DipTronics DTS-62R-V – Small Switch, Very Big (and Very Cheap)

When yours truly was but a lowly cadet, various US manufacturers produced (pricey but quite reliable) switches. Chinese vendors recently started to catch up – seeing the DTS-62R-V top our customer interest list shows that the run stage of the crawl-walk-run cycle is reached.

DipTronics has been around the Asian switch market for ages, exhibiting its parts at various trade shows all over the region. The DTS-62R-V which we recently saw a lot of interest for, is part of the family shown in figure one.

DipTronics provides various types of through-hole switches

As in the case of most other switch manufacturers, DipTronics also provides multiple options in relation to the colour and the activation force. Our figure provides a quick overview – make sure to find a button which satisfies you.

The part number provides more information about the behavior of DipTronics tactile switches

Given the fact that we were not able to get our hands onto a DTS-62R-V, we can but report on interest – if we manage to get the part into our lab, a more detailed description will follow.
