Learn more about Optocoupler Design for EMI Immunity by Broadcom & EBV

Join the IEEE Webinar on 26th May, 4pm CET – Optocoupler Design for EMI Immunity Also available on demand

This webinar takes a close look into two simple bench tests: the back electromotive energy noise robustness test and the ESD high voltage test. Both are frequently carried out by certain major industrial high voltage servo motor manufacturers to help them confidently design a robust system and pass EMC certifications.

Broadcom optocouplers incorporate design features that makes the optical isolation technology stand out in terms of EMI immunity. Attendees will learn exciting facts about some of the company’s latest optically isolated sigma-delta modulator products.

  • Learn about Broadcom optocoupler’s design features that give the isolator superior EMI immunity
  • Learn the key differences of two back electromotive energy noise robustness tests: the impulse noise test and electrical fast transient burst noise test
  • Discover Broadcom’s portfolio of high precision optically isolated sigma-delta modulators

Avoid a redesign due to noise – optical isolation offers superior noise immunity

Signal transfer via light is inherently immune to electrical noise. In addition, Broadcom optocouplers use the Faraday shield technology to offer superior noise immunity. Many designers realise too late that the non-optical isolation technology, that they have encorporated in their design, does not meet the stringent requirements for common mode rejection. This is often only discovered during a later phase in product testing, causing serious delays with product release and in many cases a redesign. Avoid this by designing with robust optical technology from the start!
